About Us

Bilberry Heath Dog Homestay is completely family-run and we have many years of experience with dogs to offer.
We realise that initially a change of environment can be very stressful for a dog and therefore ensure that every experience that they have with us is positive and that they have our undivided attention so all their emotional and physical needs are attended to.
We are aware that each dog is unique and will discuss with you their individual characters and routines to help settle them as quickly as possible.
We are happy to administer any medicines that your dog may need during their stay with us and any specific dietary requirements. A form will be given prior to their arrival so that all of these details will be clearly set out.
You can rest assured that your dogs safety and well-being is paramount to us and we will make sure that they receive plenty of comforting cuddles during their fun-packed stay with us.

I can’t recommend Lizzy, Julia, and Phil at Bilberry Heath Dog Homestay highly enough! As a family run business, they provide a truly home from home experience for my yorkies every time they stay. From the moment they arrive, they’re treated like part of the family- cuddles on the sofa, plenty of love, and the kind of care that gives me complete peace of mind.
Lizzy, Julia, and Phil take them on wonderful woodland walks and even send me little videos of their adventures, which is such a lovely touch. It’s clear how much they love them, and seeing them so happy while I’m away makes all the difference. One of my dogs is normally very nervous with new people and doesn’t like to leave my side, but she has completely taken to them, which says everything about how patient and caring they are.
By the time they come home, they’re so relaxed and tired from all the fun, I know they’ve had the best little holiday! If you’re looking for a trusted family run Homestay where your dogs are treated as one of their own Lizzy, Julia and Phil are absolutely the ones to trust.

Our 6 month old puppy loves going to Bilberry Heath Dog Homestay for day-care and overnight stays. She runs through the front door as soon as she can get out of the car and especially loves her daily walk up on the Bickerton Hills.
This is a family-run business set in a welcoming home environment. Julia and Lizzy have shared videos and pictures of our pup when she is in their care which has been really reassuring as this is the first place that she has spent time away from home, outside our immediate family.
I would highly recommend Bilberry Heath Dog Homestay if you are looking for a 'home from home' for your dogs when you are away, working or in need of a break and I'm really glad we have found somewhere we know our puppy is happy, stimulated and well-looked after.

Our two cockerpoos have been visiting Bilberry Heath Dog Homestay for nearly a year now and we couldn't be more delighted. We had a very bad experience with a previous dog sitter and were incredibly nervous about leaving them as they also have very bad separation anxiety. They are treated like members of the family and absolutely love the time that they spend there.
Lizzy and her family are kind and patient with them. They have done days, short stays and week long days and always have a lovely time.
We are so relieved that we have found a place that we can rely on and trust to look after them, we don't worry at all when they are there and get regular updates how they are getting on and enjoying their walks.
We would highly recommend Bilberry Heath to everyone looking for an excellent and caring place for their dog to stay.

I cannot recommend Lizzy and her family enough. My 8 year old French Bulldog Beau is my world and I always worry when leaving him. A trusted recommendation from my dog walker led me to Lizzy and I am so grateful it did.
She kindly accommodated Beau for a last minute overnight stay as a trial run ahead of my 10 day holiday abroad and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Beau has a few behaviour quirks due to fear but he gets along well with other dogs. Lizzy and her family's deep understanding of dogs meant that he was welcomed, cared for and supported to the highest standards.
When I picked him up, he was so happy and comfortable that he didn't want to leave which speaks volumes!
Finding someone who treats your dog as their own, showing them the same love and affection they're used to at home is rare. I feel so lucky to have found a true "home from home" for Beau.
Thank you Lizzy and family for everything you do to make him feel loved and secure and for giving me such peace of mind when I'm away. I would wholeheartedly recommend you to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog boarder.

Bailey has stayed twice now at Bilberry Heath and both times he has come back so happy. I got regular videos/photos and messages which was very reassuring.
I was worried as he can be a bit nervous with dogs or men but he was absolutely fine and clearly felt settled. Also it was lovely not to have to bath him straight away as I used to have when picking him up from kennels!
I would have no hesitation in recommending Lizzy and team and am already booking Bailey back in again.

Our five-year old Golden Retriever, Cooper has stayed at Bilberry Heath Dog Homestay many times. Lizzy and her family instantly welcomed him into their home and made him feel comfortable from the outset. We had a trial run to see how he would get on and he settled in so well that we don't hesitate to leave him there for long periods of time.
Lizzy and her family take Cooper out on extensive walks in the nearby Bickerton Hills. We are sent regular updates on how he is doing via text and videos. They can also provide training with behavioural issues if required.
We deliberately didn't ever put Cooper into kennels as we also wanted him to feel safe and personally cared for within a home setting. We are happy to say that this is what he has received here. Thank you for looking after him so well.

The team at Bilberry Heath in Bickerton have been great for our Cockerpoo, with day and weekend stay overs. They have great understanding and we know that our dog becomes part of their family and loves her walks and sleep overs....perfect arrangement, not too many dogs stay over at a time, home from home for Roxy, enjoying her walks and given lots of attention, Thankyou.
